Twenty days

A few memorable moments from the past 20 days: - Hosting a Japanese dinner for our friend Duncan, complete with edamame, hot sake and a trashy episode of 'Kelly Osbourne in Tokyo' ... - A viewing of the thought-provoking documentary Occupation 101 at the Human Rights Film Festival - Finding out the news about both our jobs!!! - Celebrating this with a rather decadent weekend of shopping & culinary indulgence :-) - Experiencing Helmi's first drive on New Zealand soil! - Going to the Wellington Food Show and seeing the unique, inspiring Peta Mathias in action - Discovering that only 80 km from here there's a place that offers chocolate therapy - Greytown, here I come! - A visit to the South American Expo with Paula & Vaughan, broken off early by a very nasty migraine :-( - Meeting Helmi & Athraa's premature babies for the first time and marvelling at their tiny but perfectly formed bodies - Watching Ewan McGregor on his Long Way Down and hoping I'll get to make that journey one day

Sounds like a busy and entertaining few days!

Did you know that Peta Mathias has a book coming out not about cooking? It's called "Can we help it if we're fabulous"

This is the blurb:

Inspirational, razor-witted and funny, "Can We Help It If We're Fabulous?" is Peta Mathias at her wisest - and naughtiest.

Television presenter, author and bon-vivant, Peta Mathias's life has been anything but dull. Recounting her own life lessons, "Can We Help It If We're Fabulous?" is an insight into Peta's entertaining life - fashion, food, relationships, music, travel, beauty, work, sex, happiness and of course, men - are the top topics for Peta's scurrilous book that will encourage and inspire readers to reinvent, spice up, embrace and celebrate the lives they have. Peta also delves into the lives of psychologists, plastic surgeons, sex therapists, hairdressers, doctors and singers - and discovers what a woman needs to make her happy, independent and successful.

"Can We Help It If We're Fabulous?" marks an exciting new departure for Peta, from award winning travel and food writer to inspirational and entertaining non-fiction writing that woman of all ages will love.

She is also doing a tour to promote her new book nationwide rfom Aug 4 to 8.

I should be getting a review copy of this - wanna write a 250 work review suitable for a student magazine in exchange for a brand new copy of it? *very cheeky I know!*
